Crowds rally against gun violence

STUDENT GUN PROTEST SLIDER Boston, MA- March 24, 2018: The March for Our Lives Boston arrived at Boston Common for a rally with thousands of people in Boston, MA on March 24, 2018. March for Our Lives is broadly advocating for Òa comprehensive and effective billÓ in Congress to address the disproportionate number of school killings in the United States compared to other countries. Two measures the group supports are instituting universal background checks and repealing a legal provision that has effectively killed federal research on gun violence. According to the groupÕs website, 60,000 people are expected to participate in SaturdayÕs march to Boston Common. HereÕs what you need to know if youÕre one of them. Plans for SaturdayÕs rally on Boston Common came together organically after students in Boston, Somerville, Cambridge, and Andover started organizing walkouts and protests at their individual high schools after the Feb. 14 shooting in Parkland.
