Across Lawrence, street corners, bridges, parks, and swimming pools are dedicated in memory of 36 veterans who died in World War I. Now, instead of only reading their names from memorial plaques, residents will be able to listen to the stories of these Lawrence veterans who died in the Great War. Each plaque is being equipped with a QR code so that people may connect their cellphones to the World War I Project, an online video collection that tells the story of each fallen veteran.
